How's it feeling being back together after so long apart?!
Lisa: I'm just so excited. I can just about contain myself! It's been quite a rollercoaster ride to get to the point where we are now. Now that the first show has gone out, I feel a bit relieved. It talked about the split, and we've all dealt with it as a band but I'm waiting for the public to deal with it too and then we can all move on with it together.

Lee: The response has been phenomenal. Everyone's been really positive which is a big surprise. Even our albums have jumped into the iTunes chart!
Lisa Yeah, we've got four albums in the top 40! It's hilarious.
Lee We didn't expect it at all.

Were you ever nervous that the response wouldn't have been so positive?
Lisa I think you're always a bit apprehensive. It's in the back of all our minds and that's why it took ten years to get to this point. We did have a lot of success and people remember Steps with fondness, so you don't want to tarnish that. We feel like we've got a bit of a legacy so it's quite a big thing. We're really pleased with the positive response.
Obviously, everyone's focusing on your split but you must have some really happy memories from the band?
Lee We have more happy than sad memories and that's a good point to put across. We are talking about the split which isn't a nice thing but there's so many happy memories. For me, travelling the world, meeting people, performing on huge stages from arenas to stadiums.
Lisa We've both enjoyed the travel. I think one of the biggest achievements was receiving our Brit award for Biggest Selling Live Act. That was a fantastic achievement. We always had adoration from fans but it was nice to be recognised in the industry as well. And the fans as well — they were the whole reason for doing it.
Lee The Brits were the key for us. It was a massive thing because Steps were all about the show and our tours were very big at that time. It's something to show off and be proud of!
Lisa, you're now a mum - how has that changed your life?
Lisa I've got a gorgeous little boy and girl. They're 2 and 3 so they're still really little and lovely. It's really enriched me as a person. I see things differently now, I'm more relaxed in myself. It just puts your priorities in place. I love being a mum.
So is this the last we'll see of Steps or will you release more music and go on tour?
Lee We're still filming - we don't know how the show ends.
Lisa It's a case of you decide! It's over to the public because we filmed the documentary for everyone to see exactly what happened. We've been really honest about it. We've got our Ultimate Collection coming out and that really is our way of saying thank you to the fans for the last 15 years of support. Theyr'e still very much there and showing us a lot of love on twitter which is so sweet. Then if that does well, we'd love to tour but it really is up to the fans. If the demand is there we'd love to do it.
And finally, what was your last omg! moment?
Lisa I think it was about half an hour ago when we were told that all our albums were back in the chart!
Lee It's a huge shock. We didn't do it for that. We thought we'd just do the Ultimate Collection, so the fact all these albums have appeared again and are selling is mad. It really is an Oh My God moment!
The Steps Ultimate Collection is out on 10th October 2011
