Madonna is usually the star associated with risqué performances that send her critics into overdrive but at last night's Super Bowl it was her stage sidekick, M.I.A who relished in this role.
Despite massive audiences from around the world tuning in to watch the show, the singer appeared to feel no shame in raising her middle finger to the crowd.

In the new video for Give Me All Your Luvin, M.I.A turns her hand into a gun shape during the bleeped out line, 'I don't give a s***' but during the live performance she went one step further.

Unfortunately for the broadcasters, their time delay system failed to catch the offensive gesture, which meant M.I.A's one finger salute went out to the masses during halftime at the NFL Super Bowl football game between the New York Giants and New England Patriots.

M.I.A and Nicki Minaj came as cheerleaders chanting 'Luv Madonna' as Madge stripped off to reveal thigh-high boots and a gladiator style cheerleader skirt.
We're not sure if the trio of ladies managed to outdo the Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake wardrobe malfunction of 2004's Super Bowl, but they sure gave it their best shot!
