Grammys 2012 winners: Adele scoops SIX awards

Adele made her return to the stage in spectacular style at Sunday's Grammy Awards in Los Angeles, sweeping the board by winning all six gongs she was nominated for at the ceremony.

She sang in public for the first time since her vocal cord surgery last year, which had forced her to pull out of all appearances for the final few months of 2011 while she rested following the operation.

Adele sang 'Rolling in the Deep' and received a standing ovation from the star-studded audience.

When she collected that award, she said: "I can't believe I'm getting emotional already. And seeing as it's a vocal performance, I need to thank my doctors, I suppose, who brought my voice back."

Adele collected album of the year for 21 and said: "First of all I want to say mum: 'Girl did good.'

"This record is inspired by something that is really normal and everyone's been through it, which is a rubbish relationship. It's been a life changing year."
