EXCLUSIVE- Peter Andre: I’m ready to be taken seriously

Yesterday saw the release of Peter Andre's seventh (!) solo studio album 'Angels and Demons'.

Peter is hoping that Angels and Demons will show he is a serious artist.

Talking exclusively to omg! Peter has admitted that he feels that this album has the potential to change the public's perception and start to think of him as a credible artist.

Peter mate, you had us at 'Mysterious Girl'.

He told us: "I've really started to up my lyrics, I write about personal things so it's much better."

"Years ago when I was doing albums I can understand why I wasn't being taken seriously because a lot of the songs were quite poppy and there was no real depth in them lyrically."

And it seems that Peter is hell bent about creating credible songs, enlisting the help of Grammy Award winning songwriters Lady Victoria and Nas Ray who have previously worked with the likes of Chris Brown and Justin Bieber.

"All of a sudden I'm starting to work with people who lyrically and production wise are a lot stronger," he said.

"As each album goes on I'm going to keep getting more and more into it. Hopefully it will be given the chance for people to listen to the lyrics and say 'You know what, this is some pretty deep stuff'."

Using his experience with Girls Aloud's career as an example, Peter Andre explained that he wants this album to be a turning point in his career.

He explained: "I wasn't a fan of their songs then one day they brought out 'Biology' and I turned around and said, 'you know what that is a bloody good song'.  All of a sudden all of their other songs made sense to me."

"I'm hoping that eventually I will give you guys the right song that will make you guys go 'you know what that's a great track' and I reckon it's somewhere on this album."

Peter will be incorporating magic into his upcoming tour.

As well as a new album, Peter Andre is also about to embark on a nationwide tour next month which he promises to be more than just your run of the mill concert.

He explained: "I'm meeting up with this guy next week, apparently the guy behind Dynamo and he's going to be giving me illusions for the tour."

That's right folks, Pete will be incorporating magic into his tour.

Peter explained the reason for this decision saying: "The thinking behind this is that you can't just go on tour, do song and dance. People get bored. It means that people have to love your songs to come to the concert."

"If someone has been taken along by, I don't know, their sister, and isn't a fan of my music, I want to know that they'll come out and say 'You know what, that was a bloody good show'."

Pete will kick off the tour in Minehead at Butlins and eventually finish at the O2 arena.

"We start at Butlins and end up at the O2, it's quite a progression!"

"It's really funny, I was reading an article that came out about the tour and this person clearly wanted to slate me saying, 'Oh Pete's doing really well, he's performing at Butlins,' and I just thought, 'what a shame they didn't day we sold out the O2 arena'."
