Adele's BRIT acceptance speech for her Best Album award was cut short last night after the live show over-ran. In retaliation the singer flipped the finger as she left the stage, but almost immediately apologised. ITV also released a statement saying sorry for the situation.
Speaking at the winners conference she said: "Can I just say sorry for swearing.
"I flung the middle finger at the suits, not the fans, I want people to know that.

Soon after the ceremony, ITV released a statement apologising to Adele.
The BRIT Awards Twitter feed wrote: “Evening all… We would like to say a
few words about Adele's British Album acceptance speech tonight.
“An ITV spokesman says: "The BRITs is a live event, sadly the programme was over-running and we had to move on. We would like to apologise to Adele for the interruption.
“We regret this happened & we send deepest apologies to Adele that her big moment was cut short tonight due to the live show over-running. We don't want this to undermine her incredible achievement in winning her incredible award. It tops off what's been an incredible year for her.”

BRITs presenter James Corden was given the awful task of cutting Adele off because the live show was overrunning and Blur needed to begin their 11 minute set.
He look mortified as he said: "I'm so so sorry, I can't believe I'm going to do this..."
A somewhat stunned Adele replied: "Oh alright, I'm sorry and I'll see you this time next year!"
She followed this with a one fingered salute to the cameras echoing M.I.A's hand gesture during her performance at the Super Bowl with Madonna and Nicki Minaj.
As soon as she could Adele made very clear she was aiming her hand towards the 'suits' and not her fans.
She told us she was thrilled to win two awards on home soil: "I'm over the moon to win these awards, they are so important to me.
"Selling 20 million albums goes over my head.
"When I performed at Shepherds Bush, I just think all the people there own it."
With some serious swagger and silverware, the star swelled up with British pride adding:
""I'm more British than anyone else here! I'm very much a London girl.
"You can't get more British then me. I'm never going to leave, I'll always stay.""
We hope you do Adele! And with that she told us she was off to party.
