We loved a1 back in the day — with tunes like 'Take on Me,' 'Caught in the Middle' and 'Take me Home,' the boys sang, danced and looked pretty all at the same time.
Now they're back eight years on and we have to be honest — they're looking even hotter than before. When we met them for lunch, we were giggling and crushing all over the place.
Despite having been reunited for over two years, the boys — Mark Read, Ben Adams, Christian Ingebrigtsen — are only just planning to release music back in the UK. So why now?
"We've been based in Norway for the last couple of years," explained Mark. "Fans over here at caught wind that we were back. With Twitter and Facebook it's much easier to keep in touch with fans.
"We've had amazing support with fans saying 'When are you going to be back?!' It's been so long and we've had so many messages that we thought we shouldn't leave it any longer."
The boys are playing a gig on Halloween and have every desire to continue making music afterwards. "We want to bring our album over here at some point," said Ben. "We want to show what we've been doing and how we've progressed."
So they're leaving the days of dancing behind, then? "We were never the best of dancers," Christian said. "Hey, we were good at the clicking of the finger," Mark laughed. "And the slide — we were the masters of the slide!" said Ben.
However, with other bands like Steps reuniting, are the boys not worried of being accused of jumping on the band wagon? "I can understand that cynicism because there have been times where that has happened and the results haven't been as successful," revealed Mark. "Take That, for example, did it for the right reasons."
Christian agreed: "It really does feel for us that together we're a better writing team than we are individually. That's where the magic is."
Aw. Well boys, we're definitely under your spell.
